In this tutorial, we’ll explain how ClickBank.com works and how to sign up to promote products as an affiliate.

ClickBank is the world’s largest marketplace for online digital products such as ebooks, audio programs and software and it’s an excellent starting place for new affiliate marketers because it is extremely easy to use and features products that generally pay high commissions (50-70% or more).

How ClickBank Works

The way ClickBank works is very simple – it matches vendors of digital products with affiliates who want to promote them.

For example, let’s say a guy named “Steve” has written an ebook on how to restore classic cars and created a site to sell the ebook. In this case Steve is a “vendor”.

Unfortunately, although Steve’s a great writer and there’s a big market that would be interested in his book, he knows that it will be tough for him to generate huge traffic to his site on his own. So, he signs up with ClickBank as a “vendor” and makes his product available through the ClickBank network.  He offers a 50% commission on every sale.

At the same time, Mary has a great blog on restoring classic cars. It’s very active and there are a lot of followers who subscribe to her blog and tune in regularly to read her interesting and informative posts. Unfortunately for Mary, she doesn’t have a product to sell and her blog doesn”t make any money for her. So, Mary signs up with ClickBank as an “affiliate” and looks for a product to promote. She comes across Steve’s great ebook and recognizes it as an awesome fit for what she is doing on her blog. She starts promoting the ebook on her blog and her readers start buying. It’s a win-win for both Steve and Mary. Steve makes a whole bunch of sales to customers he would never have reached on his own and Mary now has her own affiliate marketing business.
